Asian American Film Fest to also screen A Gentle Breeze in the Village, videos

The 26th San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival will screen the live-action Death Note film, a free showing of Hayao Miyazaki's Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro, the manga-based A Gentle Breeze in the Village, and two animated Cube Juice music videos in Northern California this month. The first of Shusuke Kaneko's live-action adaptations of Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata's Death Note paranormal suspense manga will be screened on March 14 in San Francisco and on March 22 in San Jose. The festival will then hold a free outdoor screening of Hayao Miyazaki's Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro caper film on March 15 at San Francisco's Japantown Peace Plaza.

Linda Linda Linda director Nobuhiro Yamashita adapts Fusako Kuramochi's Tennen Kokekko slice-of-life manga into live action with A Gentle Breeze in the Village, which will screen in San Francisco on March 14 and 17, and in Berkeley on March 15. Finally, two of Masaru Ishiura's animated Cube Juice music videos will screen during the Music Video Asia 2008 program on March 19.
